Bungee Jumping

  • Destination: Nepal
  • Grade: Easy

Trip Overview

Bungee jumping is a popular extreme sport that attracts thousands of tourists in Nepal. The natural setting, the conflict between your head and thumping heart-beat, the eagerness and yet the fear mixes up to create a natural drama over the bridge. The bungee jumping point at Bhote Koshi River is probably the highest bungee jump located at 3600m altitude with the jump height from bridge to the base of 160 m. It offers jumpers with the unique adventure at falling from the high altitude at the real and natural places.
Additional to the ecstasy of the jump, the mesmerizing greenery and sceneries are sure to mesmerize its audiences. The vast flowing Bhote Koshi River below opens its arms for you to jump giving a chill and beauty of death in itself. Bungee jumping elsewhere other than Bhote Koshi is deemed mere jumps. With the safety harnesses tight and double checked the bungee master’s final count – you jump, letting go off all the grieves, pain, fear, attachments with the world dropping fast towards the raging river, your greatest memories flashes back at the speed of light, you see life as you grow near to the raving water. And body stretches at the tip of the stretching rope, blood rushing down your head, eyes almost popping out; you hit the reality that you went through. A few more bounces and you are safely pulling in the river bank for a half an hour uphill walk.
The Bungee jump in Bhote Koshi River is located some 80 km north of Kathmandu. Himalayas Hiking will take you on a memorable drive to the suspension bridge where you will be experiencing the ultimate test of your own guts whether to jump from great height into the fast flowing Bhote Koshi River or not. You can also participate in other amazing extreme sports beyond bungee like swing and canoeing while you are here.
About the safety, the Swiss company constructed the bridge that has incorporated 4X safety factor whereas the best bungee consultant from New Zealand designed the bungee itself and is operated by the experts and professional jumpers. So, you are in safe hands.
In Pokhara, you can enjoy the bungee jumping located at Hemja just 20 min away from Lakeside. This is the first and only tower bungee in Nepal.
