Kathmandu Valley
Wetlands in Kathmandu
You can see various species of birds In Kathmandu, some more unique than other places in Nepal. Here are the bird watching areas in the valley a) banks of Bagmati and Manohara rivers, Chovar Gorge and Taudaha Lake. You can observe the Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Ibisbill, Wood Sandpipers and Plovers.
Phulchowki
Phulchowki at 2760m will show around 300 species of birds. This hill is covered with forest featuring outstanding flora suitable for diverse birds. Rare blue-naped pitta and a redheaded trojan and other native birds like endemic spring babbler, curia, mountain hawk eagle, rufous bellied pied woodpeckers and the black-throated Parrotbill can be seen here.
Godawari
Godawari is located at the foot of Phulchowki hill. It also consists of beautiful Botanical Garden which containing exotic and local flora that attracts over 100 species of birds including racket-tailed Drongo, Tibetan siskin, and the spotted fork-tail.
Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve
Shivapuri wildlife Reserve preserves more than 300 species of birds. Some of the endangered species like white-rumped vulture and hodgson’s bush chat along with spiny babbler, barwing, white-throated tit, partridge, great barbet, wedge-tailed green pigeon, eurasian jay, kalij pheasant, Nepali fulvetta etc.
Nagarjun hill
Nagarjuna hill, once used to be a royal retreat is a protected area that hosts birds such as the red-billed blue magpie, eagle owl, mountain thrush, chestnut bee eater, large-hawk Cuckoo, maroon-oriole and Eurasian wood-cock.

Pokhara City:

Koshi Barrage and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve are in the eastern Terai to the Far East of Nepal. You can take a boat ride, gliding through waters in the stillness of early morning and evenings and watch birds.
Similarly, Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve protects over 450 species of birds that includes wild ducks, ibises, storks, swamp partridges, herons, egrets, Bengal florian, Black Ibis and other exotic and migratory birds hardly seen around other parts of Nepal.
Chitwan National Park:
Chitwan National park is the most popular site for bird watching. You will get various mediums to watch the bird from the comfort of your hotel as well as the elephant ride or in a jeep ride. You can also take a nature walk to see over 500 species of birds.
